iSPY;- ELITE MODEL LOOK FITTINGS.!

Today was the Elite Model Look competition Fittings and I spent time trying to fit the models into the pieces with the head stylist, Veronica Ebie - Odeka.
With awesome designers on board like Republic of foreigner, Bridget Awosika, Eki Orleans, Virgos Lounge, and Swimwear designer, Melissa Odabash, I am not exaggerating when I say the show is gonna be awesome.
I work closely with Veronica and she has a styling outfit called Vane style. Her style is immaculately clean and she stays stylish all the time. Today’s shoot was not an exception as she stays killing it with her outfit.

THAT'S WHAT THE WATER GAVE ME. . .

The title is actually the name of a new song by my favourite band, Florence and the machine. I wore this out to visit my friend. I think I tried to step out of my comfort zone and try the whole androgyny trend with a feminine twist.

Fittings for Nigeria’s Elite Model Look start tomorrow. It’s gonna a very long day for me, but I am still excited about it.
I will be taking pictures and posting them right here on this blog.

THE BIRTH OF ANDROGYNY.

Le smoking, 1975

This is where it all began. . .
Perfect “feminine meet masculine” look.

Helmut Newton’s iconic image of YSL’s Le smoking; a model with slicked-back hair, cigarette clutched casually in hand. AWESOME!

THE LOOK-BOOK ; WANA SAMBO

Wana Sambo clothing is a high street brand with each piece designed to be worn repeatedly and dressed up in different ways by the wearer.
The Look-Book was shot on an old ship, which was really very exciting for us. The story/plot/theme entails that the Model was in state of confusion and wonders why her fantasy of living luxuriously on a ship is not real.
I love the designs because they are really all whimsical and breezy because of the tulle fabric used. I tried styling it with little or no accessories, so the designs pop and not overshadowed by them

THE YOUTH COLLECTION BY ANDREA IYAMAH

I am not fond of putting look-books that I didn’t style up on here, but I couldn’t resist breaking the rule for this collection. The Youth collection by Andrea Iyamah is too catchy for words. Blame it on my Love for bright, bright colours. Each piece is distinct on its own and stands out.

I LOOOOVVVEEE EETTT…!!

THE STYLIST'S CHRONICLES;- IMPERFECTION

I can’t stress how hard fashion styling is. I don’t know what vibe most celebrity stylists must have given, but it isn’t all glitz and glamour.
Like I said in my fashion stylist assistant 101 post, sometimes it isn’t about looking good, but getting the job done.
I noticed that the recent stylist chronicles I post, I am always looking good at the shoots, but sometimes that isn’t the truth. I am all about getting the job done and can’t be bothered about fixing my hair, wearing the perfect combination of clothing etc
I don’t work with an assistant, partly because the last one I had practically thought Looking good/pretty automatically makes one a fashion stylist. Imagine the pressure of setting out the clothes, dressing up the models, picking out the location, dictating the poses etc all on my head.

This was shot at the Y! magazine’s Editorial shoot. It was my first magazine shoot and I was really determined to give it my all as usual.
Really glad the pictures came out Fabulous, even though I looked a hot mess behind the camera.
LMFAO! J
